Jil Sander F/W09

What comes to mind when you hear the name “Jil Sander”? For those who know a thing or two about a thing or two, the brand Jil Sander represents clean lines, bold shapes, minimalism, and effortless execution. You could eat off of these clothes. The Jil Sander womens F/W09 collection was all those things and beyond. With this collection, Raf Simons has truly surpassed anything he’s previously done, be it his own label or his collections for Jil Sander. It was the present injected with a handful of futuristic elements, some elements reminiscent of Nicholas Ghesquière’s work at Balenciaga. The jackets with prominent shoulders and voluminized curves, spiraling funnel collars, perfectly executed variations of “the little black dress”, and bold coloured linings, were amongst many components of this brilliant collection. His die-hard customers were probably wetting themselves in astonishment during the show.

  1. Jil sander always amazes me. Somehow it’s so simple, but never boring Raf Simons is just genius!

I feel spring in the air too! Donna Karan just has the most magical way with gold. no one can do it better than her.

CoutureCarrie awarded my with an amazing blog award, and I passed it on to you. So, now you have to pass it on to a few others. Take a look at my D&G post to see. ❤

  2. This collection was out of control! I loveeeddd it! Raf is seriously a genius. The shoes were great too. They kind of remind me of a mix between a pair of Kirkwood’s and the fall 08 Miu Miu pumps… but better, haha.
