Fall Favourites – Milan

I think it’s safe to say that designers who showed during Milan Fashion Week did everything but disappoint. As I discussed the practicality of New York in “Fall Favourites – New York”, the same cannot be said about Milan. European fashion in general is much more “out there” and taken quite a bit more seriously than their American counterparts. Some designers played it safe (Burberry Prorsum, Bottega Veneta, and Dell’Acqua) but still managed to present solid, perfectly executed collections. Others took outside inspirations from the past and present (Fendi and Dolce & Gabbana), while others used their own fashion houses as inspiration to push the fashion forward envelope (Jil Sander, Gianfranco Ferré, and Marni). The remaining designers took a risk by attempting something completely different, and managed to produce some of the seasons most impeccable collections (Prada and Missoni). The 10 best collections from NMFW (Milan Fashion Week):

  1. Thanks for posting these. I hadn’t really seen any shots from Milan yet. I hope you will have a great week. Cheers!

  2. Awesome pic selections here, darling!
Loved Fendi (bustier!), Jil Sander (color!) and Dolce & Gabbana (pouf!) most.

  3. I really liked everything except Prada. I just couldn’t get into it this season.

  4. A lot of people have said the same thing. Prada F/W09 was either a hit or miss depending on the individual; hate it or love it. I just happened to LOVE it.
