No need for an informative introduction, as I’m sure you’re aware that NYFW is in full swing. There is only 2 more full days of shows, so let’s hope those scheduled designers bring the beauty. Following the conclusion of NYFW, I’ll be posting my favourite collections in a “Best of New York” post. There isn’t a Yang without a Ying, therefore those collections that missed the mark, or didn’t live up to expectations (yes, we all have opinions) will be discussed.
Stay tuned. [K]
Soo… yeah… I was right (click here to see why).
Thakoon, Altuzarra, Derek Lam, & Preen
Tommy Hilfiger, TRIAS, VPL, DKNY
Would you f*ck with her? Above-the-knee leather macramé gladiator sandals from Malandrino S/S11… yeah… I didn’t think so.
Only 3 days into New York Fashion Week and the tone has been set. Across the board, designers are making a statement for S/S11, to the tune of “white is the way to go”.
Alexander Wang, Edun, Lacoste, & Ohne Titel
Prabal Gurung, BCBG Max Azria, Doo.Ri, & Rag&Bone
Ruffian, Jason Wu, Nicole Miller, & Christian Siriano
Apart from the clean lines and neutral-toned day wear, Jason Wu‘s S/S11 runway presentation was also comprised of…nips. Or, to be more formal, nipples. Bra-less glamazons were donned in the sheerest of tops, baring their breasts in the classiest way conceivable. After all, It is for Spring/Summer; the twins deserve some air, and exposure (if you can handle it).
The evening wear was no exception.
Sidenote: notice the striking resemblance (below) between this look from Chanel S/S07 (left) and Mr. Wu’s (right). Could the brilliance of Lagerfeld have slipped into his subconscious? I would say it’s a mild case of subliminal inspiration.
tis the season
Simon… Will you marry me?
